Intervention is a program run through participating schools. This program allows teachers to identify students who are struggling in academics and in behavior. SAL Deputies work with the school and the kids to try to get them on a positive track. This is done through communication and interaction.
Deputies are able to sit down with the students in a classroom setting and identify the issues that are causing them to fall behind. Deputies can offer resources and guidance that often times resonates with a student. Students who have gone through the intervention program have often times brought their grades up in school and had a complete turn around in their behavior.
